It’s been more than 20 years since Suzuki unveiled the original GSX-R750 and released to the world the first true race replica sport bike. Utilizing a clarity of focus never before seen in a production motorcycle the GSX-R750 set the stage for a whole new class of motorcycle. It’s now 2006 and once again Suzuki proudly unveils the next step in GSX-R performance. Introducing the all new 2006 Suzuki GSX-R750, built to be the incredibly fast, unbelievably nimble and offering unmatched performance and balance for the true sport bike rider.
Engine
Powering the 2006 GSX-R750 is an all new ultra compact 749cc inline four cylinder engine with revised bore and stroke dimensions, updated fuel injection and all new exhaust system. The new GSX-R750 features a new narrower engine design with revised 70mm x 48.7mm bore and stroke measurement,higher compression ratio of 12.5:1 all designed with maximum performance in mind. New larger twin injector Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve fuel injection system feeds the engine with even more performance while still maintaining maximum throttle control. Downshifts are a breeze with a new slipper clutch system as found on the powerful GSX-R1000.
Chassis
Building on the passion and dedication found in all GSX-R machines, the 2006 GSX-R750 combines the outstanding size and handling of a 600 with the mind numbing performance of a liter class machine. The’06 GSX-R750 utilizes an all new and compact chassis, complete with a brand new twin spar aluminum frame built with optimum rigidity and maximum handling performance in mind.
Rake and trail specification have been updated for unmatched handling and the new frame uses five cast sections for maximum control during production. The GSX-R750 also features an updated riding position for optimum rider control, alower seat height and all new adjustable rider footrests for maximum adjustability. Forks are 41mm Showa units with three way adjustability working in conjunction with a new longer aluminum swing arm and a 40mm rear shock which also boasts adjustability for pre-load, rebound as well as high and low speed compression settings.
Styling
Like the new GSX-R600, the 2006 GSX-R750 receives an aggressive redesign for the new year. The smaller front fairing features a more aggressive design, and when combined with the sharply styled fuel tank, all new tail section with integrated turn signals and new thinner wheel design creates an unmistakable and purposeful new look for the GSX-R750.
Front turn signals are built into the rear view mirrors for improved visibility and a clean look and a new vertically stacked headlight design allows for ram air ducts to be mounted closer for maximum efficiency and performance. All this combined with the new under engine exhaust system create a sleek and aggressive new look for the all new GSX-R750. It is possible to have it all with the all new GSX-R750.
